RECOMMENDATIONS FOR A SUCCESSFUL CULTIVATION
|Production target||High grain yields under locally adapted cultivation, providing the specific quality traits of an ancient grain.|
|Crop rotation||Comparable to spelt wheat|
|Sowing time||From the end of September to mid-October|
|Seeding||Sowing time and sowing rate:|
|Standard sowing: 150-170 spikelets/m² (app. 160-180 kg/ha)|
|Late sowing: 170-190 spikelets/m² (app. 180-200 kg/ha)|
|Increasing the sowing rate on the basis of organic production methods (e.g. harrowing) should be carried out at own discretion.|
|Weed control||Späths Albjuwel competes well against weeds, so that two to three rounds of harrowing should normally be sufficient. The first harrowing should be performed as early as possible once the 3 leaf stage has begun in spring. A second round should be carried out three to four weeks later.|
