This very early growing 100% male hybrid produces steady maximum yields from the beginning of the season. The yield consists of a high number of medium-thick spears. Ravel is perfectly suited for forcing techniques to obtain early crops. A huge advantage for the farmer is that he can be present at the market from the start.
CULTIVATION
RAVEL is suitable for all types of asparagus soils. Heavy and fertile soils foster the diameter of the spears and are therefore particularly well suited for RAVEL. On light soils irrigation during dry periods is recommended. For the cultivation of white asparagus we recommend a plant density of three plants per running meter.
YIELD AND QUALITY
RAVEL offers a very high yield potential. At harvest typically a high number of spears with a moderate spear diameter is brought in. The spears are smooth and straight with a firm tip.
RAVEL is uniformly classified, showing a high proportion of spears in a range of 16-26mm.
FOLIAGE
RAVEL shows medium-long, solid and firm sprouts. The pale-green foliage is relatively densely branched. A meticulous plant protection maintains RAVEL green for a fairly long time and contributes to a solid yield formation for the coming season.
