RECOMMENDATIONS FOR A SUCCESSFUL CULTIVATION
|Production target||Good grain yields with quality traits typical for einkorn under extensive cultivation and a risk of lodging kept as low as possible.|
|Crop rotation||Comparable to spelt wheat with regard to crop rotation; ripening approx. 1-2 weeks later than wheat; positive experience with regard to cultivation after grain maize.|
|Sowing time||From the end of September to mid-October|
|Standard sowing: 300 - 350 germinable spikelets/m² (app. 100 - 120 kg/ha)|
|Late sowing: 350 - 400 germinable spikelets/m² (app. 120 - 140 kg/ha)|
|Increasing the sowing rate on the basis of organic production methods (e.g. harrowing) should be carried out at own discretion.|
|Weed control||Blind harrowing in autumn is recommended, in order to get weed pressure under control that was built up due to a very slow youth development. From leaf stage 3 on, harrowing is possible again.|
