RECOMMENDATIONS FOR A SUCCESSFUL CULTIVATION

Production target
Good grain yields with quality traits typical for einkorn under extensive cultivation and a risk of lodging kept as low as possible.
Crop rotationComparable to spelt wheat with regard to crop rotation; ripening approx. 1-2 weeks later than wheat; positive experience with regard to cultivation after grain maize.
Sowing timeFrom the end of September to mid-October
SeedingSowing rate:

Standard sowing: 300 - 350 germinable spikelets/m² (app. 100 - 120 kg/ha)

Late sowing: 350 - 400 germinable spikelets/m² (app. 120 - 140 kg/ha)

Increasing the sowing rate on the basis of organic production methods (e.g. harrowing) should be carried out at own discretion.
Weed control
Blind harrowing in autumn is recommended, in order to get weed pressure under control that was built up due to a very slow youth development. From leaf stage 3 on, harrowing is possible again.
